About the association

Our mission statement

ArkeoTopia, an alternative approach to archaeology was founded on May 21st, 2007, under the initiative of Dr. Jean-Olivier Gransard-Desmond and Ms. Christiane Angibous-Esnault. Based in Paris, this organization consists of a diverse community, including citizens, passionate people, volunteers, and specialists. Our mission is to promote, support, and highlight the crucial importance of archaeology in our society while contributing to research efforts.

To achieve our objectives, ArkeoTopia is actively engaged on several fronts. In terms of sharing information, conferences, guided tours, workshops, and scientific mediation activities are organized. Regarding training, we support secondary school students, university students, and enthusiasts working on projects; as well as creating educational materials available on our website. As for research support, we operate on the national and European levels in areas of education, research, and citizenship. We also contribute to the dissemination of knowledge by publishing in peer-reviewed journals and sharing relevant works on our website.

By including everyone, ArkeoTopia aims to work towards a new perspective on archaeological research.
