Open Heritage Coalition

The Open Heritage Coalition (formerly known as TAROCH – Towards a Recommendation on Open Cultural Heritage) is an international initiative led by the NGO Creative Commons. Launched in 2024, the Coalition brings together actors from the cultural, scientific, and digital worlds who share a strong conviction: cultural heritage belongs to everyone and must be freely accessible to nurture knowledge, education, and creativity (Read the Open Heritage Statement).

In line with the pillar of Championing archaeology, ArkéoTopia joined the Coalition in November 2025 to help defend the principles of the statement and bring cultural heritage to life, based on the idea that only open cultural heritage can stimulate creativity, strengthen cultural rights for all, support a sustainable future, and affirm culture as a global public good.

Plage FM

In line with the pillar of Popularization ArkeoTopia has been a partner of Plage FM since July 2025 with the broadcast of the series Les Vestiges de la Plage (Artifacts on the Beach) aimed to help us learn about the archaeology of the Arcachon Bay in a fun and educational way, in collaboration with researchers working there.

Cercle Histoire et Patrimoine de Longvilliers

The Cercle Histoire et Patrimoine de Longvilliers (Longvilliers Historical and Heritage Circle) is an association founded in 2023. Their missions include collecting and sharing the heritage of Longvilliers and the surrounding area with as many people as possible, discovering historical and natural heritage sites, and sharing research among archive enthusiasts. — www.chplongvilliers.org

In line with the pillars of Popularization and Support, ArkeoTopia has been a partner since April 2025 for its work on popularizing Longvillier’s heritage with Mission Eva, and for its support for paleography workshops for sharing on Wikimedia tools.

Société Archéologique de Touquin

The Société Archéologique de Touquin (Archaeological Society of Touquin) was founded in 2008 as a continuation of the Section archéologique de Touquin (Archaeological Section of Touquin). The AST aims to preserve and enhance the history and heritage of Touquin and the surrounding neighborhoods. They also raise public awareness of this archaeological and historical heritage, organize and stage exhibits, conduct archaeological fieldwork, publish historical research, as well as conserve and display both archaeological finds and survey results in the museum. — sat77-archeologie.fr 

In line with the pillar of Research, ArkeoTopia has been a partner since August 2024 for their participation in the scheduled excavation of the Fontaine aux Moines.

European Association of Archaeologists

The European Association of Archaeologists (EAA) is an association founded in 1994. Based in Prague (Czechia), they bring together archaeologists and professionals and non-professionals involved in European cultural heritage. In 1999, due to its representativeness of the European archaeological scientific community, the EAA was granted consultative status with the Council of Europe. This status was upgraded to participatory status in 2003. Its objectives are to organize an annual thematic meeting and to carry out actions to support and promote archaeological research at European and international level through publications, networking, and targeted actions by its communities. — www.e-a-a.org / Wikipedia page

Following its European elections, ArkeoTopia has been a partner since May 2024 through their Political Strategies Community and for their upcoming actions related to defending and promoting archaeological research.

Archives départementales des Yvelines

The Archives départementales des Yvelines (Yvelines Departmental Archives), also known as the AD78, is a service provided by the Yvelines Departmental Council. They oversee public and private archives to make them accessible to all. As part of their mission, AD78 carries out promotional activities in collaboration with the Yvelines Departmental Heritage Preservation and Transmission Center and the 78-92 Interdepartmental Archaeological Service. — archives.yvelines.fr 

In line with the pillar of Popularization, ArkeoTopia has been a partner of AD78 since May 2023 thanks to their help with the geolocalization game ( Eva – Les Tisseurs du temps) that let the public explore the cultural heritage of Yvelines.

CfAS

The Coalition for Archaeological Synthesis or CfAS is a coalition that was created in late 2017. It is located in the Institute of Behavioral Science at the University of Colorado Boulder, led by the Statistical Research Inc. Foundation (SRIF). The coalition brings together 60 international professional and non-professional archaeological research organizations as well as cultural heritage specialists. Their goal is to promote the development of archaeological syntheses in order to broaden knowledge and enable society to benefit from them. — www.archsynth.org 

Encouraging collaborative research in archaeology, as well as knocking down institutional, disciplinary, and societal barriers are fundamental measures in order to have innovative and quality research. For these reasons, in addition to their research and popularization efforts for Open Science and participatory science, in line with the pillar of Research, ArkeoTopia has been a partner of CfAS since May 2022.

Games for Citizens

Games for Citizens, association that has been home to the Ikigai consortium since May 2020, a portal for educational video games aimed at secondary and higher education. The association benefits from the support of the Ministry of Higher Education and Research and the Ministry of National Education. The consortium aims to become the go-to source for high-quality educational games that meet the expectations of secondary school and higher education students through its free gaming platform. — www.ikigai.games 

ArkeoTopia supports the association’s actions and has officially been a partner since June 2021. ArkeoTopia also sits on the Board of Directors and Scientific Advisory Board, contributing its skills and expertise in archaeological research, scientific education, and game design and creation.

Trusted Partnerships

L’Alliance pour la lecture

The Alliance pour la lecture (Reading Coalition) is a collective bringing together 70 organizations from the cultural, social, educational, and anti-poverty sectors to encourage volunteering, public generosity, sharing, and new commitments for the future in favor of concrete actions aimed at audiences who do not have access to reading. On November 24, 2021, the Prime Minister awarded the collective the 2021-2022 Grande Cause Nationale label dedicated to “reading as a factor of social inclusion.” The coalition was formed as an association on March 9th, 2022. — www.alliancepourlalecture.fr 

Since there would be no scientists, and therefore archaeologists, without learning to read, ArkeoTopia supports the coalition’s actions and officially became an associate member in April 2022 thanks to our efforts promoting reading (with resources like Augstin’s World, events like #IReadArchaeo, promoting reading with our participation in the Wikipedia entry Lecture à haute voix, etc.)

Wikimédia France

Wikimédia France, the French association that works to promote the free sharing of knowledge through the Wikimedia galaxy (Wikipedia, Wiktionary, Wikimedia Commons, Wikidata, etc.) and the actions that the association carries out with its own members and volunteers, such as Wiki Loves Monuments or  Défi des monumentswikimedia.fr 

ArkeoTopia supports the association’s actions and was officially a partner from June 2016 to March 2024 in order to share our skills and our expertise in areas of heritage, science, and education related to archaeology in exchange for logistical and human support.

Bibliothèque Saint-Simon

Bibliothèque Saint-Simon, a municipal library in the 7th borough in Paris with collections for both adults and young people. From March 2011 to June 2020, ArkéoTopia ran workshops for young people and offered lectures at the Bibliothèque Saint-Simon. This partnership provided an opportunity for some wonderful initiatives, such as the Polar and Archaeology exhibition on the character of Guy Marais through his comic book version, and the participatory Wikipedia and Science workshop for the Numok festival.
